Overview


Focus: The M.Sc. in Reproductive Genetics is a multidisciplinary full time program, with the aim of providing graduates in life sciences an opportunity to understand the genetic and epigenetic aspects of human reproduction process in natural and assisted conceptions using state of the art facility. 

 

Course description: The program consists of four semesters (in 2 years, 80 credits) involving intensive training in both basic and advanced genetic tests to understand the pathophysiology of reproductive cells. The learning process uses a combination of manoeuvres including interactive theory lectures, tutorship, postings, small group discussions, seminars, electives. Further, a semester long mandatory research project related to reproductive genetics will be assigned to have a flavour of research. Moreover, students will have the opportunity to take up internship in a reputed genetic lab through industry academia partnership.

Semester 3: Genetic Testing & Applied Bioinformatics

Semester 2: Genetic Basis of Infertility & Developmental Genetics

Semester 4: Research project and Internship


Career prospectus: On completion, the candidates will have the opportunity to do PhD, work as research associates/ reproductive geneticists in diagnostic genetics labs, hospitals and research labs.
