Manipal Academy of Higher Education – Improves its tally in NIRF ranking

INDIA RANKING 2020 by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was e-released by the honorable HRD Minister – Sri Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' on 11th June 2020.
This ranking framework follows an Indian approach that considers India-centric parameters like diversity and inclusiveness apart from excellence in teaching-learning and research.
This framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The methodology draws from the overall recommendations broad understanding arrived at by a Core Committee set up by MHRD, to identify the broad parameters for ranking various universities and institutions. The parameters broadly cover “Teaching, Learning and Resources,” “Research and Professional Practices,” “Graduation Outcomes,” “Outreach and Inclusivity,” and “Perception”.
Manipal Academy of Higher Education Manipal (MAHE) is being ranked by NIRF since the inception of this ranking and the Deemed to be University is improving its tally year over year. This year, MAHE has improved by one place in the Rankings for Universities in India. From 9th rank last year, MAHE moved to the 8th rank which is the best yet for the University. In the overall ranking too, MAHE has vaulted 2 places, from 16 to 14.
It is a remarkable achievement for the Deemed to be University declared as Institution of Eminence before last year. And that’s not all, there was a lot more to cheer about with four of its constituent units are in the top 10 in their respective categories and others are also doing extremely well in the rankings and making their presence felt in the education world.
Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal was ranked 2nd in the country, Manipal College of Medical Dental Sciences, Mangalore ranked 6th, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences retained its rank of being the seventh best in the country, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal was ranked 9th in India and the Medical College at Mangaluru ranked 21st in the country. Manipal School of Architecture and Planning ranked 12th and Manipal Institute of Technology ranked 45th this year.
