COUNSELLING & ADMISSION

When you go for counselling

As you book yourself for the online test, remember also to select your venue for counselling from the list of centres available in the online test booking system (OTBS), before you download the e-hall ticket. You can check your rank, counselling schedule, venue and other details at www.admissions.manipal.edu.

Please ensure that you fulfill all the eligibility requirements mentioned in the prospectus when you come for counselling.

Your physical presence at the counselling is mandatory. However, if extenuating circumstances prevent you from being physically present for the counselling, you may authorise someone  who must carry your authorisation in a fixed format  CLICK HERE. He/she must also bring all your documents and the admission fees.

Please note that your absence or the absence of your representative at the indicated reporting time and date for counselling will result in the instantaneous forfeiture of your claim to a seat.

Please note that only the applicant/representative are allowed into the counselling hall.

Applicants are called in the order of their ranks and asked to choose from among the seats available for admission at that point of time.

A tie for an admission seat is resolved as follows

  • The Net Average Score (NAS) obtained during the qualifying examination is calculated by taking the gross average marks of all the Board/University examinations and subtracting a factor determined on the basis of the number of failures.
  • The tied applicants are re-ranked on the basis of NAS.
  • In the event of NAS of two (or more) tied applicants being equal, the applicant with the lesser number of failures is ranked higher.
  • For the purpose of this rule, each failure in a subject in a (semester/year) Board/University examination is counted as one failure. Non-appearance in a particular subject in an examination for whatever reason is also counted as failure.

The choice of course made by the candidate/representative is final and binding and cannot be altered later under any circumstances.
