The Department of Social and Health Innovations offers postgraduate and PhD programs in social work. The MSW program is designed to prepare students for careers in social work, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to address social issues, promote social justice, and improve the well-being of individuals, families, and communities. Embracing a wide range of domains of expertise, our multidisciplinary team proposes educational programs and research activities around various approaches toward more preventive, promotive, and rehabilitative systems.

Academic Programs
The MSW (Master of Social Work) Programme launched in 2009 is offered by the Department of Social and Health Innovation and is a comprehensive, full-time postgraduate course designed to prepare students for professional careers in social work and related fields. This program provides the knowledge, skills, and practical experience necessary to address social issues and enhance the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.

The Department of Social and Health Innovation is dedicated to advancing research and fostering collaboration with academic institutions and community partners. Our partnerships with leading universities such as James Cook University, the University of South Australia, Maastricht University, and the University of Melbourne drive interdisciplinary research and innovation in social and health issues.
National collaborations with NIMHANS Bengaluru integrate mental health into our broader initiatives, while partnerships with organizations like Help Age India, and KHPT Bengaluru focus on community-centered programs for vulnerable populations.
Locally, we work with organizations including PADI Mangalore, Manasa Rehabilitation Centre Udupi, DEEDS Mangalore, Ave Maria Palliative Care Mangalore, A B Baliga Hospital, Udupi, Autism Society Of Udupi and others to translate research into practical, community-driven solutions that enhance health services and promote inclusive care.
