Department of Nuclear Medicine

MCHP , Manipal
Health Sciences

Established in 1985, the Department of Nuclear Medicine at the Manipal College of Health Professions (MCHP), MAHE is concerned with the diagnostic and therapeutic use of radionuclides in benign and malignant disorders of the human body. The department carries out a wide range of procedures using different radiation detectors — most commonly the gamma camera and PET-CT scanner. Alongside routine diagnostic and therapeutic work, personnel are frequently involved in clinical trial work, quality assurance, and research, in a field that remains a constantly evolving and integral part of the healthcare system.
