Established in November 2019 under the Manipal Comprehensive Cancer Care Centre, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology has a 24-bedded ward with state-of-the-art induction rooms with HEPA filters, ideal for all childhood cancer treatment including bone marrow transplantation, along with a day care unit for OPD-based blood transfusion and chemotherapy. The division integrates comprehensive cancer care with treatment protocols that are the standard of care in most cancer centers in the country and outcomes comparable to big cancer centers in India, supported by doctors trained in well reputed institutions, a dedicated pediatric oncology nutritionist, social worker, and trained pediatric nurses, a pediatric cancer care fund, and partnerships with NGOs supporting children with cancer.
