CURRENT ACADEMIC ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Mr. Adithya D. Shetty has been associated with Department of commerce, MAHE, Manipal as an assistant professor, since 2nd July 2014. He is a specialist in Logistics and supply chain area and handles subjects including business statistics and mathematics, operations strategy, sourcing procurement and purchasing, CRM, warehouse ICD and packaging and purchase management.

    He is also pursuing his Ph.D. in the area of pharma logistics, which deals with designing a cost effective supply chain model for critical drugs. The research would help hospitals and health clinics in overcoming the critical issues encountered in the procurement of emergency drugs.

    His research interest also includes logistics operations pertaining to various sectors of economy.

    He has completed his B.E in Computer Science from NMAMIT, Nitte and MBA in Marketing in JKSHIM, Nitte. He later perused his career with Manipal Technologies Ltd, as Key Accounts Manager before entering the academic domain.

    He is the admission coordinator for department of commerce since 2014 and actively involved in student engagement programes. 

    He was the student council faculty representative for the post-graduation program for the year 2016-17. He mentored the student community in conducting several events in this capacity.   

    He is the member of academic review committee for the department since 2014. In this capacity he has contributed in designing new curriculum for several courses.

    His research paper on “Trends and Issues of logistics management in Healthcare industry: An Indian Scenario”, focuses on issues that health care companies face in making the drugs for critical cases reach on time, was published in International Journal of science research and technology in the year 2015.

    He has also published a paper on “Reliability of Pharma logistics service in India: A Study” which points out the lapse of reliability in transportation network deployed by the Pharma distributors in health care supply chain in the year 2015 - 2016.

    He was a part of the organizing team for International Conference on “Contemporary Issues in Commerce, Management & Social Sciences” during July 22-23, 2016 at Manipal International University Campus of Malaysia.

    He has keen interest in agriculture and processing of agriculture produce.
