Neuroprotective effect of Vergin coconut oil in parkinson’s disease in rats

Funding Agency : ICMR

Parkinson disesase is one of the neurodegenerative disease caused by loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra of basal ganglion. L-Dopa is the treatment for PD but there will be motor complications and oxidative neuronal damage reported with continuous therapy. VCO with beneficial health effects and few side effects can be a good alternative for the prevention or management of inflammation andoxidative stress in neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson disease
