Department of Paedodontics & Preventive Dentistry conducted one day CPD Program ‘Pedoapp 2017’ on 11th September 2017 at Lecture Hall 1, Attavar campus.

2. Dr. Saranya M, Director, Chandras Little Smiles, Coimbatore.
3. Dr. Sanchit Paul, Paediatric Dentistry Craniofacial & Special Care Clinical Fellowship at SickKids Hospital, Toronto, Canada; Chief Pediatric Dentist at Tooth Tales, Greater Noida.
4. Dr. Sumita Upadhyay, Assistant Professor, Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences, Kathmandu, Nepal
Dr. Keerthilatha M Pai, Dean, MCODS, Manipal graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The program was attended by more than 80 delegates consisting of Interns of MCODS, Mangalore and neighboring dental colleges in addition to the postgraduates and faculty from the Department of Paedodontics and Preventive Dentistry from the same. The speakers, Dr. Sankalp Taparia, Dr.Saranya M and Dr. Sanchit Paul, focused on pediatric dental treatment in a hospital setting which included treatment under general anesthesia, management of tongue tie, role of dental infection foci in systemic disease manifestation, facilitating feeding in new born with cleft lip and palate and dental management of children with hemophilia. Dr. Sumita Upadhyay spoke on use of silver diamine fluoride to arrest dental caries among preschool children and children with dental anxiety in clinical and community set up.
The topics were well discussed at the end of each session by the delegates with active participation from senior faculty as well. The event, which focused on Hospital based Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, was well appreciated by all the delegates. All the guest speakers were post-graduate alumni of Department of Paedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, MCODS, Mangalore.
