RESTOR ENDO IV 2017

Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore successfully conducted a CDE programme RESTOR ENDO IV on 3rd Oct, 2017 at Light House premises. The Continuing Dental Education Programme was basically held to motivate the young researchers to help in their clinical work and gain thorough knowledge on the clinical practice. Dr. Kundabala M, Professor welcomed the gathering that included the Chief Guest, Dr. Anand Venugopal, Medical Superintendent, KMC Hospitals, Mangalore, Guest of Honor, Dr. Dilip Nayak, Dean of MCODS, Mangalore, and the resource person, Dr. Vivek Hegde, dignitaries, invitees, faculty members and students.

Dr. Vivek Hegde, Vice Dean and HOD, Dept of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Rangoonwala Dental College, Pune, President of Society of Oral Laser Applications, India, Director of Indian Board of Endodontics, Associate Editor, Journal of Endodontology, spoke on the topic “RECENT ADVANCES/CHANGING TRENDS/MODERN ENDODONTICS” which enlightened the importance of the rotary endodontics and the recent trends developed in rotary endodntics. He also gave a brief insight on the use of loupes and microscopes in endodontics. He also focused on the newer philosophies of no post and no crown, and irrigation protocol as well.

Dr. Vivek Hegde also conducted a workshop on the newer rotary systems from Dentsply, India. He gave a demonstration on Protaper Next rotary systems and the mode of using them. All the postgraduates participated in the hands-on workshop.
