Quality is of prime concern in healthcare system, says Dr Sabhahit at quality improvement programme

 The role of pharmacists integrated with doctors and nurses in providing quality healthcare to patients is of utmost importance”, says Dr Narayan Sabhahit, Registrar, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MU), during the inauguration of the two-week long quality improvement program [QIP]. Dr Sabhahit was the chief guest for the AICTE sponsored QIP held on 12 September. The theme of the QIP is ‘Formulation and management of quality medicines’. Pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical quality assurance and pharmacy management are the departments coordinating the various sessions till 24 September. In his welcome address, Dr C Mallikarjuna Rao, principal, Manipal College Of Pharmaceutical Sciences highlighted the different AICTE schemes which were of benefit to pharmacy teachers and students. Dr Rao lauded Dr N Udupa, Research Director, MU for his untiring efforts in making MCOPS, one of the nodal centres for conducting such programmes. Wishing good luck to delegates, Dr Mallikarjuna concluded his address to the gathering. Dr J Venkata Rao, professor, pharmaceutical biotechnology proposed the vote of thanks. Ms Reema Narayan, research scholar was the master of ceremony and the invocation was sung by Ms Alka, a post-graduate in department of pharmaceutics.
