Department of Atomic and Molecular Physics ensures that the scientific fraternity including students and teachers in and around Manipal awaken to the beacon of the latest developments in the emerging fields of Photonics and related areas. With this end in view, the department has organized various events every year.

One Day Symposium on Recent Advances in Photonics is another event in this series. The symposium covered multiple areas of photonics including Optical Fibers using nanomaterials for sensing applications, Lidar based stand-off detection of chemical agents, Role of electronics in analytical instrumentation and Atmospheric Optics and so on.
