Workshop on Uses of Instrumentation of Physics in Archaeology

May 12, 2012

A 3-day workshop on ‘Uses of Instrumentation of Physics in Archaeology’ was organised by CAMP from 19th to 21st March 2012. This set the stage for a two-way exchange of information between physicists and archaeologists. Besides the faculty of CAMP, eminent scientists from TIFR, BARC, and BHU handled the theory sessions. This was effectively supplemented by detailed experimental sessions in the laboratories with the setups of Raman Tweezers, Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy, X-ray Fluorescence and Laser-Induced Fluorescence. The workshop proved to be highly beneficial to the participants which comprised chiefly of a team of archaeologists.
