Manipal - KSSPL Port Summit 1.0

Centre for Supply Chain Education and Research, Department of Commerce, Manipal Academy of Higher Education in association with Krishnapatanam Port Company Limited 2017 are organizing a National seminar on “Manipal – KSSPL Ports Summit 1.0 – Calibrating engineering and Management Innovations” on 29th – 30th November 2017 at T.M.A Pai Hall, KMC Campus in Manipal

This event will comprise of an Industry – Academia Calibration Summit and an Exhibition. The Summit will be attended by various stakeholders in the maritime sector such as policy planners, domestic and international investors, and experts, shipping lines, representatives of major ports from across the world as well as senior officers from Department of Ports, Government of Karnataka, Faculties, Research Scholars and Students Fraternity.

Krishnapatanam Security Services Private Limited is the Institution partner for this event and the Summit will have participation of a delegation of maritime companies and Government officials from Andhra Pradesh.

The Summit will showcase networking opportunities and profiles of projects that are available across a vast range of activities in the maritime sector, particularly those related to new and important initiatives such as Sagarmala, Inland Waterways, Coastal and Cruise Shipping, integration of inland operations & Container terminal Management. The Summit aims to position India as an emerging destination for investments in the maritime sector across the world.

An exhibition along with exclusive sessions will showcase the latest technology, products and services as well as help disseminate knowledge about the latest development in Maritime Sector. It will provide a platform to interact closely with leading global Maritime organizations to explore business opportunities and create awareness among stakeholders about the emerging trends and opportunities in Maritime Sector

Inauguration of Student Research Forum by Dr.Satish Shenoy B, Director - Research (Technical). Dr. Sandeep Shenoy, HOD of Department Of Commerce presided over the inaugural on 14th September 2017 at LH1 Department of Commerce. As an effort to promoting research activity among students Student Research Forum was initiated.

Industrial Visit to 'Sri Anagha Refineries and Bisleri' organized by Entrepreneurship Forum of Department of Commerce on 17th October, 2017. Faculty members Mr. Ananth Bhat and Mr. Santosh Nayak accompanied the students. Final year BBA and B.Com students got an opportunity to interact with leading entrepreneurs and enhance their practical knowledge

The Centre for Consultancy Training and Corporate Interface initiated an Industry- Academic Interface with Karvy Consultancy, Hyderabad. Mr. Rajiv Ranjan Singh, CEO, Broking business, Karvy with Mr.Vikram Baliga, Centre coordinator & Faculty of Department of Commerce, Manipal Academy of Higher Education had an interaction with students

A session on “Meditation: A tool to balance your life” by Jim Rose was held at DOC on 17th October 2017. Students and faculties were a part of this inspiring session. Jim Rose, M Ed., Rutgers University, is a retired executive of Johnson & Johnson a multi-national corporation. He has 35 years of experience in Human Resources management, employee development and conflict resolution. He was recognized by Human Resources Executive magazine as one of the top HR executives in the US as a member of Science of Spirituality, Jim brings his skills to the organization, leading workshops focused on meditation and spirituality and their practical application to daily life. He has spoken all over the world: from throughout the United States and Europe to Dubai and India. Jim currently provides workshops and training to groups throughout the world where he connects meditation and spiritual development to important aspects of our lives. He has been meditating for over 30 years and now focuses much of his time on his own spiritual development and in helping others who wish to do the same

"National Conference on Digital India" organized by Department of Commerce under the guidance of Head of Department, Dr. Sandeep Shenoy, on 13th October 2017 at Dr. T.M.A Pai Hall. The inauguration was accompanied by, Dr. Satish B. Shenoy and CA Mahindra Shenoy P. The conference conveners, Dr. Satish Kumar and Dr. E. Geetha were also present.
