With the objective of building and sustaining valued partnerships to not only enhance our study programs but also further India’s engagement with the wider world, we work closely with language centres, cultural institutes, and universities, both in India and internationally.
This is a completely unique take at the best years of my life. The program is like no other, it is fun, engaging and the faculty is like family. I have a renewed love for languages and a more intense appreciation for linguistic and whatever makes a language and culture. Absolutely the best years of my life so far.
BA FLIS 3rd Year
For me, First year was one of the most amazing phases of my life. It’s hard to summarize my experiences in few lines. DoL has given me numerous opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities. Special lectures and MILAP did increase my enthusiasm. Courses are challenging but very enlightening. I get to learn something new with each course. Faculty members are enthusiastic and supportive. The environment helped me in gaining knowledge as well as in improving my overall personality. I like the pleasant atmosphere here and professors are really close to students. Professors ensure that all the sessions are interactive and interesting I would like to thank my professors for their encouragement and support.

First time I saw the MAHE campus I was mesmerized. I was a little taken back on some level. It was almost like I was outside of Karnataka. Of course, their reputation precedes them. The Department of Languages gives ample opportunities for students not only to grow professionally but also personally. We have turned our way from conventional way of studying to rational way of learning. I have enjoyed learning here; it is fluid and flexible, they are not rigid about anything.
BA FLIS 2nd Year
My semester at MAHE was a successful experience. I could study and work in a familiar environment where I felt welcomed and where people did their best to let me discover the Indian culture, the projects going on at the Department and everyone made me feel involved in the Department’s life. I admired the enthusiasm that the whole staff put into organising activities and events that contributed to enrich the Department’s academic programme.

At the Department of Languages, we not only appreciate linguistic diversity but also the natural world. Our students worked on fabric bags with messages revolving around sustainability in different languages.
The Immersion Program, aimed at welcoming new students on board to DoL, is always exciting and informative to say the least. Here is the Gender Sensitization workshop in full swing during the 2019 BA FLIS Immersion Program.
Dr Mohan Kumar, former Ambassador of India to France, in an effective address to the students, shared his experiences of serving in the Indian Foreign Service, how it is the ripe occassion to explore this avenue as a student and the collaborative potential India-EU partnership.
