Department of Languages

DoL’s commitment to excellence in teaching and research at Manipal Academy of Higher Education, an Institution of Eminence, is infused with the objectives of enhancing academic capital required for deeper engagement of India with the wider world and creating new opportunities for learners.

In addition to our flagship undergraduate program, BA (Hons.) European Languages and Intercultural Studies (BA ELIS), we house short-term certificate courses and open electives in partnership with international institutes.

Student Testimonials

At the Department of Languages, we not only appreciate linguistic diversity but also the natural world. Our students worked on fabric bags with messages revolving around sustainability in different languages.

The Immersion Program, aimed at welcoming new students on board to DoL, is always exciting and informative to say the least. Here is the Gender Sensitization workshop in full swing during the 2019 BA FLIS Immersion Program.

Dr Mohan Kumar, former Ambassador of India to France, in an effective address to the students, shared his experiences of serving in the Indian Foreign Service, how it is the ripe occassion to explore this avenue as a student and the collaborative potential India-EU partnership.
