Overview

The Department of Health Innovation builds on the identification of Public Health Problems e.g. by the Department of Health Information and develops social and technical solutions.

The Robert Bosch Centre for Health, Applied Research and Technology alloted to this department is an example in which technical solutions are developed and tested. An example of social innovation to be developed further by this Department are the different health insurance schemes in India e.g. in comparison to the situation in other BRICS countries.

The Master of Hospital Administration (MHA) Programme is coordinated by this Department as this opens the opportunity to test and implement new innovations in this setting.

 

Doctoral Research (Ph.D.):

The department also offers full-time Doctoral Research Positions (Ph.D.). Innovative solutions in the field of healthcare technology, sustainability, quality outcome in public health issues of local, national and global concerns are envisaged through academic-industry-public sector collaborative and multi-disciplinary research. Institutional scholarship will be provided to meritorious candidates. Part-time Ph.D.  is also undertaken for candidates who are working in the Manipal group and are desirous of pursuing a Ph.D. in the field of healthcare administration.
