Dr. Muralidhar Varma D

Currently serves as Professor in Infectious Diseases at Kasturba Medical College, MAHE, Manipal, and Chairman of HICC, Provides clinical teaching and training to DM Infectious Diseases fellows, MBBS students, medical interns, and residents from Internal Medicine and related specialties through bedside teaching, seminars, journal clubs, case discussions, and structured academic sessions. Contributes to postgraduate and doctoral mentorship as PhD guide, medical registrar/resident thesis guide and co-guide, and doctoral committee member. Regularly supports academic activities such as seminar facilitation, case-based discussions, trainee assessment, and development of research and critical appraisal skills.

Actively involved in research in infectious diseases, diagnostics, antimicrobial resistance, and antimicrobial stewardship, and continues to update academic knowledge through conferences, workshops, CMEs, national and international collaborations, and invited teaching engagements.

Serves as regular teacher for sessions on scoping reviews, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses. Has contributed to the development and delivery of the Antimicrobial Stewardship and other academic training initiatives. Also participates in departmental and institutional academic activities, supports collaborative research, and contributes to capacity building in antimicrobial resistance and infectious diseases.
