CME- HIV update 2016

A half day CME was held on 2nd December 2016 at the medical education unit on account of World Aids day. Theme of the event was “Hands up for #HIV prevention” in accordance with the current years UNAIDS theme. The programme was held by the collaboration of departments of Medicine and Paediatrics with McGill centre for infectious diseases. The function was Inaugurated by Dr M.V.Prabhu Dean, KMC Mangalore who was the chief guest and Dr.Ramakrishna Rao, District Health officer, Dakshin Kannada district was the Guest of Honour. The CME focused on bringing about holistic knowledge about HIV /AIDS in the form of interactive case discussions and scenarios in the fields of Medicine, Paediatrics and Obstetrics & Gynaecology. There was also a heart-warming session on social issues in HIV by Rev. Father Mathew Perumpil and few orphan adolescents affected with HIV shared their personal experiences. The programme ended with a quiz for post graduates ,which was won by team from KMC Mangalore.
