CME on "Pain in the neck - how and why?"

Department of Anatomy, KMC Mangalore and Manipal, conducted a CME on “Pain in the neck-How & Why?”on 27th January 2013 at Kasturba Medical College, Bejai, Mangalore. Dr Surendra V Shetty, Pro vice chancellor, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Mangalore campus was the chief guest.

Dr Venkatraya Prabhu, Dean, KMC Mangalore, presided over the function. Dr Vasudha V Saralaya, Professor & HOD of Anatomy, KMC, Mangalore welcomed the gathering. Dr Antony Sylvan D’Souza, Professor & HOD of Anatomy, KMC, Manipal, proposed the vote of thanks. Dr Latha V Prabhu, Professor of Anatomy, KMC, Mangalore, Dr Ishwara Keerthi C, Consultant spine Surgeon, KMC Hospital, Mangalore, Dr Charu Eapen, Associate Professor of Physiotherapy, KMC, Mangalore and Dr. Annapoorna Acharya, Selection grade lecturer, Department of Yoga, KMC, Manipal were the guest speakers and delivered talk on Anatomy of neck, Common cervical spine disorders and management, How physiotherapy is helpful in relieving neck pain? and Healing touch of Yoga. There was also a live demonstration of Yoga techniques by Ms. O K Jin Chang, a yoga student from KMC, Manipal. Over 150 delegates from different Medical Colleges attended the CME and appreciated it.
