State Conference of Indian Association of Medical Microbiology

Department of Microbiology, Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore organized the XVIIth Annual State Conference of Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists – Karnataka Chapter on February 24, 2013 at MCODS, Attavar Mangalore. The theme of conference was “Healthcare Associated Infections-Clean, Care, Control”.
Talk by eminent microbiologists and panel discussion on hospital infection were part of the conference. Seventy one papers were presented and 300 delegates from all over Karnataka attended the conference. Dr M. Venkatraya Prabhu, Dean, Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore was the chief guest and inaugurated the function.
Dr Dilip Naik, Dean, MCODS, Mangalore was the Guest of Honour. Dr Shrikara Mallya, Professor of Microbiology at KMC, Mangalore and President of IAMM-KC welcomed and Dr Shrikala Baliga, Professor and HOD of Microbiology and Organizing Secretary of the conference gave vote of thanks. Dr. Ethel Suman, Associate Professor of Microbiology compered the programme. The conference was held to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Kasturba Medical College.
