Overview
The department has state-of-the-art facilities for training of undergraduate and postgraduate students in Community Medicine. The department has been involved in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of health programs and activities in its vast field practice area.
The six Rural Maternity and Child Welfare homes in Udupi taluk and Dr T.M.A Pai Rotary Hospital of Karkala taluk under the administration and management of the department have been instrumental for the training of postgraduates in the field of public health.
The department has the experience of handling various research projects funded by national and international agencies in the field of public health. The department has also played a key role in evaluation of national health programs by assisting central and state governments. It has been actively involved in the field of Primary health care through its six Rural Maternity and Child Welfare homes in Udupi taluk and Dr T.M.A Pai Rotary Hospital of Karkala taluk.
Through various public, private partnership projects the department has handled various research projects funded by national and international agencies in the field of public health. Patient files and data are managed using the eRMCWH software.
Assistance to central and state governments in implementation of various national health programs through monitoring and evaluation and providing assessment reports and constructive feedback.
