Awareness programme for prevention of Maxillofacial injuries.

A group of Interns and faculty of the Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry organized an awareness program for prevention of Maxillofacial injuries resulting from dog bites in children between July 20th and July 27’2014. The children of 5-8 years from 8 schools in and around Manipal were educated with posters of Maxillo facial injuries and life skills were taught to children to protect themselves in an event of dog attack. As an extension of this program the children were also educated on oral hygiene practices and common dental problems in children. This program was supported by the Manipal branch of the Indian Dental Association.
