SCHOLARSHIPS

 

With the objective of encouraging meritorious students and academic excellence, many scholarships are offered for deserving candidates. The quantum of scholarships and the number of scholarships are subject to change from time to time. Changes, if any will be updated on our website.

 

FREESHIP

 

MBBS, BDS & BPharm Courses: Candidates who have secured within the first 100 ranks of the respective merit list in the MU-OET 2015 are offered 100% freeship.

The freeship will cover only the course fee payable for the particular course of study. The candidate will however be required to pay Rs. 11, 000 (Registration fee: Rs. 10,000 + Processing fee: Rs. 1,000) payable at the time of admission. The freeship will not cover the expenses such as hostel accommodation, books etc.

 

MERIT-CUM-MEANS SCHOLARSHIP

 

Candidates admitted to MBBS course from rank 101 to 500 and BDS, BTECH & BPharm courses from rank 101 to 1000 of the respective merit list in the MU-OET 2015 are eligible for merit-cum-means scholarship. Scholarship amount shall be determined based on the parent's annual income (from all sources) as mentioned below:

*Candidates need to pay a nominal amount of 5% of course fees or 5% of total family income as a yearly installment, whichever is minimum.


Eligible candidates should produce an attested photocopy of the latest Income Tax (IT) return form for proof of parents’ income at the time of counseling/admission. Non-working parents should produce a notarized affidavit indicating that they are not employed.

 

NOTE: The freeship & merit-cum-means Scholarship taken together is limited to 5% of the general category intake and will cover only the course fee payable for the particular course of study. The candidate will however be required to pay the appropriate first-year course fee (excluding scholarship amount), and registration fee payable at the time of counseling/admission. This scholarship will not cover the expenses such as hostel accommodation, books etc.

The award of freeship & merit-cum-means scholarship for the subsequent years will be the same as given at the time of admission in the first year. The percentage of scholarship amount will be constant throughout the course duration, irrespective of changes in income group. Continuation of scholarship for subsequent years will be based on the academic performance of the students in the university exam as per the University rules.

 

AICTE SCHOLARSHIP

 


In pursuance of the policy framework for the promotion of post graduate education and research in Engineering, Technology, and Pharmacy of MHRD, AICTE provides financial assistance to the GATE/GPAT qualified students enrolled for MTech/MPharm courses.

MPharm students who have qualified in the GPAT examination, do obtain the scholarship from AICTE. The AICTE, through direct bank transfer system, delivers or credits the money to the bank account of the student, after the college completes verification and uploading process from its webportal. Several hundreds of MPharm students who pursue their education at MCOPS are the beneficiaries of this scolarship.

 

SCHOLARSHIP FOR KONKANI SPEAKING STUDENTS



10% tuition fee waiver for admission to all courses of Manipal Academy of Higher Education for Konkani Speaking students only. They have to pay other fees as well as the remaining tuition fees. Eligible students need to apply separately after admission. However, these candidates should pay the full fee at the time of admission and the fee waiver will be given separately after scrutinizing their eligibility. The waiver will be 25% for those students joining Allied Health Sciences or Nursing courses. This would be applicable to General Category only.

 

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ACADEMY OF GENERAL EDUCATION STUDENTS (SAGES)

 


There are a few seats reserved for students who have studied their two years of PUC for undergraduate courses or qualifying examinations (all years/ semesters) for other courses in the AGE colleges.

Admission will be done as per the admission criteria mentioned for the respective course. The award of scholarship amount will be based on the percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination (as per the eligibility requirement of the course) and parents’ annual income. In addition to the above-mentioned scholarship students are also eligible for Interest Subsidy on Education Loan scholarship.
