A two-day International Conference on Applied Sciences, Engineering & Technology - INDO-VIETNAM COLLABORATION - in Association with Nguyen Tat Thanh University(NTT), Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam was inaugurated on 10th July 2017 by Director Admissions, Manipal Academy of Higher Education - Dr. Srikanth Rao. Dr. BHV Pai, Joint Director of MIT presided over the function. Dr. Tuan Quoc Le, Acting Dean at Faculty of Food, Chemical, and Environmental Sciences, NTT University was the chief guest. Conveners Dr. Prema KV and Prof. Balakrishna Maddodi were present on the occasion.

A total of 110 registrations were received, out of which 71 participants attended the conference. As many as 20 papers were received from outside India including those from Vietnam, Belgium, Switzerland, South Korea, Taiwan and Shanghai in China. Within India, the papers were received from the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.

Papers were also received from industry as well as government agencies such as Bosch Rexroth, Philips Lighting, Nokia Solutions and Networks, Indian Institute of Geomagnetism, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

The conference included presentations from participants, keynote speeches, panel discussions and poster presentations. There were track wise best paper awards as well as poster presentation prizes.

The valedictory function took place on 11th July 2017, presided over by Dr. G K Prabhu, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Technology & Management), Manipal Academy of Higher Education and Director, Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal. The Chief Guest for the function was Dr. Narayana Sabhahit, Registrar, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, and the guest of honours were Dr. Nhung Nguyen Thi Hong, Dr. Tuan Quoc Le and Dr. Cuong Xuan Luu, NTT University.
