The Study-Buddy Program is an initiative launched by the Office of International Affairs and Collaborations to provide information to international newcomers and to assist them adjust to the new environment. Every international student gets a “Buddy” (a Manipal Academy of Higher Education student who is familiar with the university's/institute’s structures), who will give a helping hand during their stay at Manipal..
As a Study Buddy you will have the opportunity of meeting and interacting with students from different parts of the world. What this means and the concomitant benefits that accrue are entirely dependent on the student–mentor relationship and the bond that is established due to the interactions between both parties.
What will I get out of being a Study Buddy?
As a Study Buddy you'll have the opportunity of meeting and interacting with students from different parts of the world. What this means is entirely up to you and your Study Buddy. This is an opportunity to learn about people from different cultures, and help out a peer in need.
What support will I get as a Study Buddy?
The Office of International Affairs and Collaborations will be your primary point of contact for any questions or concerns you have as a Study Buddy, and we will be able to provide you with the support you need.
Study Buddies are hired on a needed basis. Students will be contacted through email when a position becomes available, and a student will be selected from the pool of applicants.
