Dr. Umeshray Pai

Dr. Umeshray Pai, KMC alumni working for University of Cincinnati, Ohio. A physician of anesthesiology, he is an Indian born man of great character and determination. He served a year fellowship at Oxford University in England. In 1972, he came to the United States and accepted an anatomy teaching position at Tufts University. He decided to begin his clinical career here at UC and was accepted into the Anaesthesia residency program in 1978. He continues his love of anatomy being an adjunct professor at UC Medical School. In his lifetime he has taught thousands of Medical students the fine art of cadaver dissection. He has had the privileged of working with over 3000 cadavers. He shares his love of anatomy and regional anesthesia and pain control at national and international conferences.
Dr. Pai is a seasoned physician with a lot to offer to his younger peers. He is very energetic and can “run circles” around some of his younger co-workers. He is always a patient advocate. There are some times when he must do what is right and best for the patient, even if it is inconvenient for the surgeon. He is not only a very knowledgeable anatomist and physician but also a caring human being of the highest quality.
