Green Manipal University does brilliant hat trick of Golden Peacock Award

Manipal Academy of Higher Education clinched the Golden Peacock Award for Environment Management a third time. With that, the University has completed a brilliant hat trick of the Award. Also, Manipal Academy of Higher Education has established itself as a campus which pays as much attention to its green environment as it does for academics and other activities.
The award rules stipulate that it is presented to organizations with significant achievement in environment management. And therefore, Manipal Academy of Higher Education has been judged worthy of the Award, once again, for successfully managing environmental concerns.
The Awards Jury under the Chairmanship of Justice P. N. Bhagwati, former Chief Justice of India and co-chairmanship of Justice (Dr.) Arijit Pasayat, former Judge, Supreme Court of India made the choice.
The Award was presented by Justice (Dr) Arijit Pasayat at the “Golden Peacock Awards Nite' during the 16th World Congress on Environment Management on July 11, 2014 in New Delhi. Others present on the occasion were; Lt Gen (Ret) J S Ahluwalia, President, Institute of Directors, Atul Chaturvedi, Chairman, Public Enterprises Selection Board, Rana Kapoor CEO Yes Bank and others.
Registrar, Dr G.K. Prabhu and Director, Purchase and General Services, Col (Retd) Badri Narayanan, Director, Industry Liaison and Placement, Mr Prasanna R Kailaje and Environment Executive, Mr Derrick Joshua, Environment Executive received the Award on behalf of the University.
