June 21st is declared as the International Day for Yoga by the United Nations General Assembly on December 11, 2014.
The declaration of this day came after the call for adoption of 21st June as International Day for Yoga by the Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi during his address to UN General Assembly on September 27, 2014.
In continuation of celebrating the spirit of yoga, Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) in association with REDINNO (Research Development and Innovation) celebrated the Pre-International Day of Yoga on 18th June 2017 at the campus premises. The preparatory workshop was held by the yoga guru, Dr Ram Avatar, Rtd. Project Officer Yoga, Government of Delhi to promote yoga awareness and its accrued benefits. This workshop was a part of the series of the planned yoga camps. The event was witnessed by approximately one hundred and fifty participants including MUJ officials along with faculty, staff and students.
