Epigenetics describes the heritable changes in gene expression and is mediated by mechanisms such as covalent modification of DNA or histones and non-coding RNA among others. Stochastic and environment-induced deregulation of the epigenome contributes to diseases such as cancer and complex non-Mendelian disorders.
Recent technological advancements such as DNA microarrays, high-throughput sequencing and bioinformatics have provided biologists to understand the epigenetic processes.
This workshop intended to provide hands on training on various laboratory experiments on epigenomics and data analysis over a period of three days.
