Dr. Kamalesh Mumbrekar, Lecturer, Department of Radiation Biology and Toxicology, SLS, Manipal Academy of Higher Education has received the Young Scientist Award (Career Based Achievement Award) for his contribution in the field of Translational Radiobiological research on the “Understanding and Prediction of Normal Tissue Toxicity in Breast Cancer Patients by Cellular and Molecular Analysis” at the International Conference on Radiation Research: Impact on Human Health and Environment (ICRR-HHE 2016) held at BARC, Mumbai during 11-13 February 2016. He received the award from Prof. Michael J. Atkinson, Director, Institute of Radiation Biology, Helmholtz Zentrum München, Germany. This work was undertaken as his Ph.D thesis under the guidance of Dr. B.S. Satish Rao Professor & Head, Department of Radiation Biology and Toxicology at School of Life Sciences, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal
