Overview
The BSc. Perfusion Technology course offered by MCHP, Manipal was started in July 2012. The department has well-equipped laboratories for practical exposure and faculty selected for their field expertise and academic experience.

Teaching methodology
- Outcome based education curriculum.
- Clinical skill training in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery operation theatres.
- Students are posted in perfusion clinical lab to learn techniques.
- Students are posted in ICUs and trained in different aspects of patient monitoring and post-operative care.
Assessment
- Every semester has one to two sessional exams
- Every subject has internal assessment component and end semester component in a semester
- Examination pattern has a written exam of 40 marks of 1 ½ hours or 100 marks of a 3-hour paper
- Internal assessment comprises sessional exams, attendance, assignment and class participation through continuous evaluation
- Evaluation and grading for each subject is based on internal assessment of 50% and end semester exam 50%
- Minimum attendance to appear for examination is 80%.
