Robert Gordon University GO India Project (August 25th –September 10th 2016)

The RGU Go: India Project involved students from various disciplines at Robert Gordon University who spent around 3 weeks at Manipal Academy of Higher Education where they worked with 2nd year MSc Exercise and Sports Sciences students to develop and deliver health and well-being initiative. The objective of the project was to design, promote and deliver health nutrition and sports events for people in rural areas and higher primary school students of Manipal, which identified and addressed local health issues

During their stay at Manipal, RGU students met with the Dr. B. Rajasekhar, Dean, School of Allied Health Sciences

Robert Gordon University and Manipal Academy of Higher Education Exercise and Sports Sciences post graduate students conducted interactive and fun awareness sessions about nutrition, physical activity and impact of high-sugar diet at Madhava Kripa School, Manipal. The school pupils were encouraged to try some art during the festival. The mural behind the students was painted by Allana, a design and communications student at RGU. 

RGU and Manipal students conducted fun sport sessions for the students. Some of the games were ‘Basketball Corners’ and ‘Dog and the bone’
