Quality Department

The Quality and Compliance department is working with the following objectives: 

 

Quality Objectives

  • Implementation of a Quality management system in a phased manner in all the institutions of the university based on the goals and objectives of each financial year.  The system comprises the implementation of relevant standards, accreditations, and practising business excellence models and also to develop an integrated quality model that covers all relevant standards.
  • Taking necessary steps towards sensitisation, training and maintaining the quality auditors’ pool for the university and its constituent units and arranging cross-quality audits at various constituent institutes and associate hospitals
  • Creating an atmosphere to nurture quality as a culture
  • Facilitating the sharing of best practices across institutions of excellence at national and global levels and getting an insight into the working of the institutions.
  • Understanding our strengths and weaknesses, the quality department, from time to time, processes and compiles applications for national and international awards and accreditations by various statutory and other prestigious bodies

 

Compliance Objectives

  • Assisting the constituent units to comply with the requirements of Statutory / Regulatory / Govt. bodies.
  • Organizing Academic audits at constituent units.
  • Assisting the constituent units in starting new programs and renewal of existing programs
  • Assisting University in preparing applications for starting new units/departments/programs

Quality Measure

  • Periodic Internal & external quality system audits
  • Periodic Management Review meetings to discuss the outcome of the quality audits and to review and monitor the corrective and preventive actions taken to meet the objectives and for continual improvement.

 

Statistical Bureau

  • The Statistical Bureau provides statistical information related to students, courses, library facilities, teaching staff and non-teaching staff to agencies such as UGC, AIU and other regulatory bodies.
  • All this information is gathered from colleges/institutions and teaching departments once in six months (January and July).
  • It also publishes the convocation and annual reports for the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, giving information about workshops and conferences conducted by the concerned departments, faculty publications and other academic activities.
  • Coordinates the activities of Scholarship portals like State Scholarship Portal, National Scholarship Portal etc.

 

Accreditations

MAHE has been granted the top accreditation grade of "A++" with a CGPA of 3.65. As per NAAC, only institutions that achieve a minimum CGPA of 3.51 on a maximum scale of 4 are awarded the 'A++' rating, signifying a high level of academic achievement and excellence.
