Namma Angadi from March 7th 2014

School of Communication, Manipal will organize  'Namma Angadi', a three-day exhibition-cum-sale event from March 7 to 9,  2014 on its campus. The funds raised from this event will be contributed towards the education and skills training of the children and artisans at Namma Bhoomi. Sri. Prasanna, Social activist- Charakha Movement will inaugurate the event at 10 am.


The inaugural address will be on, “Head, Heart and Hand: Exploring Synthesis” and Mr. Prasanna will speak on his work “Desi”, handloom, handicraft and more.


Namma Bhoomi, an NGO under the care of The Concerned for Working Children (CWC) has been raising awareness on the issue of Child Labour. Based in Kundapur, it has established itself as one of the foremost organisations working for the betterment of the working children. Namma Angadi, is the exhibition-cum-sale of handloom/ handicrafts crafted by the artisans of Karnataka to raise funds and support both children and adults.

CWC–UNICEF was jointly nominated for Nobel Peace Prize in 2012.
Associated in 2003, and over a decade now, School of Communication (SOC), Manipal Academy of Higher Education, has been annually organizing Namma Angadi as a three day shopping event, not just to raise funds via sale of products but also to sensitize its students towards a social cause and raise its concern towards the holistic situation.


Namma Angadi will showcase range of products like furniture, handloom sarees, kurtas, kurtis, footwear, handicraft items, jewellery, jaggery, honey, Kamlamkari work, bags, wallets, folders and many more.
