Two days Faculty Development Program / Hands-on workshop On Ansys Lumerical FDTD Simulation of Photonics Components from 16^th October to 17^th October 2024 was organized by Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in association with IEEE Photonics Student chapter MITB & CADFEM

About FDP: The FDP introduced ANSYS Optics & Photonics with its wide-ranging applications. The basics of Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) simulation were explained, along with a theoretical overview of grating nanostructures on Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI). A hands-on session was done by Amarendranath Yatavakilla, Susruta Narayan & Akankshya Panigrahi. This program marked a significant step in advancing photonics research and education within MIT, providing a robust platform for faculty and researchers to collaborate and innovate using state-of-the-art tools like ANSYS Lumerical. The workshop concluded with a feedback session, where participants expressed appreciation for the hands-on experience and the depth of knowledge shared. Certificates of participation were distributed to all the participants.
