Program Description

This course is designed to prepare the graduates for the dynamic practice of Optometry with patient-centred educational program. This course provides platform for the students in primary eye care and various other specialties in children and adults.

 

Focus

During the program, students are trained to perform comprehensive eye examination and provide appropriate optometric management. Students are provided training in the areas of

contact lens, low vision and binocular vision during the course along with participation in various national level community-based eye screening camps

 

Eligibility

Pass in 10+2 / A Level / IB / American 12th Grade or equivalent with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics from a recognized Board, with minimum 50 % aggregate marks or equivalent in PCB/PCM course curriculum

Graduates of this program can find placements in traditional and non-traditional areas including:

• Tertiary eye care Hospitals

• Optical and Contact lens industries

• Private Practice

• NGOs
