Assistant Professor

Muhsin holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Hyderabad, where he received a gold medal for his dissertation. He was awarded the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) by the UGC to support his doctoral studies. Before joining Manipal Law School, he taught political science in the Department of Liberal Arts (DLHS) at MAHE in Bangalore. Muhsin has presented his research at several international conferences, and his work has been published in Web of Science and Scopus-indexed journals. Additionally, he actively participates in public debates on political and policy issues, contributing blogs and articles to various national and international platforms, including The Diplomat, The New Indian Express, The News Minute, East Asia Forum (Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University), South Asian Voices (Stimson Center, Washington, D.C.), and the USC Center on Public Diplomacy (University of Southern California, Los Angeles). In 2021, he received the Best Publication Incentive Award in Political Science from the University of Hyderabad under the Institution of Eminence (IoE) scheme. He also served as a Visiting Fellow at the South Asia Program at the Stimson Center in Washington, D.C., during 2021-22. He also served as a Research Associate at Defence Research and Studies (DRaS), an online think tank founded by Indian Armed Forces veterans. At Manipal Law School, he provides research guidance to LLM students on their dissertations and oversees the Research & Publication Committee, the Internship & Placement Committee, and the Social Media Committee.
