CURRENT ACADEMIC ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Melita Sheilini assists the Head of the Department in various departmental activities and involves herself in college activities.

    She:

    • Has around 17 years of experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students 
    • Had been the resource person for the Continuing Nursing Education classes for one week on ‘Advanced Intensive Care’ for the staff nurses working at AL Salam International Hospital in Kuwait during February 2016.
    • Had been the trainer for the Training of Trainers (TOT) program for nurses on HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis under “The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) Round-7”. 
    • Trained as Internal Quality Auditor for Integrated Management System (ISO 9001:2008 & 14001:2004)
    • Trained and certified in AHA (American Heart Association)-BLS and ACLS program and member of the Kasturba Hospital, Manipal CPR committee.
    • Coordinates the institutional bioethics activities at MCON, MAHE, Manipal
    • Functions as the coordinator for the antiragging committee of MCON, MAHE, Manipal. 
    • Coordinating the open elective course on Medical Emergency and First aid for the students of MIT. 
    • Teacher Guardian for 1st Year BSc students.
