The Community Medicine Department strives to introduce medical students to the challenges and rewards of community-based care by providing them a theoretical base and opportunities to observe and obtain evidence-based practical experiences on the field in a demographically diverse setting.

Pedagogy
Students will be provided learning experiences through varied pedagogic methodologies including experiential learning methods.
Research
Focus areas include adolescent health, mental health parenting, non-communicable diseases, environmental health, and sanitation.
Community Engagement
Students engage with the community through participatory learning methodsenabling community partnerships and leading to sustained community empowerment.
Labs & Facilities
It has world class facilities for training undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The department has a demonstration lab for undergraduate students and a museum with teaching aids, hard tissue and mounted soft tissue specimens.
Museum of Anatomy and Pathology
Billed as one of the largest in Asia, the museum boasts of over 3,000 specimens

MMMC provides excellent facilities for effective learning. One of the things I find most useful is that we were given hands-on opportunity of learning with real specimens, which in the end contributes to better learning process.
