Director of Manipal Law School, Dr. Sarasu Thomas, graced the One Day Nation Conference on ‘Empowering Women Workers in the Constuction Industry: A Socio-Legal Dialogue’ as Chief Guest and Speaker. It was conducted by the Family Councelling Centre, established by Shankarrao Chavan Law College, Pune.

The centre is the official mediation centre of the Bombay High Court and was recently recognised by the Maharashtra State Commission of Women for the outstanding pro bono services provided to parties involved in family disputes. The conference was funded by the Nation Commission of Women, New Delhi, and attracted a diverse group of students, professionals, and academicians from across the country. The conference highlighted critical issues surrounding women workers in the construction sector and aimed to foster dialogue on socio-legal challenges they face.
