Overview

LLM in Construction Law and Arbitration is a specialized master's degree programme that will upskill the cohorts to be professionally competent in the inter disciplinary field of construction/infrastructure sector in India and globally.Manipal Law School is the first Law School in the Country to offer a specialised masters in law degree in construction Law field. The programs intend to expose cohorts to emerging construction technologies, sustainability, administration of construction contracts based on best international practices, risks involved in construction besides alternative dispute resolution like adjudication, arbitration, and mediation.

The Indian construction industry is growing at an exponential rate. It is expected that over the next 4 years the Indian construction industry would be registering an annual growth of 6.3% and India’s infrastructure investment will be in the range of US$ 1.3 trillion (INR 104.2 trillion).

Such an exponential growth in the industry has also attracted project delays and cost overruns. For example, in survey of out of 1521 projects, 380 infrastructure projects have cost overruns of INR 4.58 Lakh crores (cost overrun 22%) 642 Projects are in delay (56%)

Eligibility Criteria & Admission Process

Eligibility Criteria:

LLB with 50% marks and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.

Duration : 1 year (2 semesters)

Mode of Delivery : Combination of contact classes and virtual online and live sessions (Blended learning).

Assessment criteria : Ongoing assessment and end term in person examinations at the University.
