Health Awareness Programme For Primary School Children
To promote the health awareness among the primary school students, the III year BSc Nursing students of Manipal College of Nursing Manipal, MAHE, Manipal organized health awareness programme on 13th September 2019 and 30th October 2019 between 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm at Academy School, Manipal and on 31st January 2020 at Day Care, MAHE, Manipal.
The purpose of the program was to sensitize students about personal hygiene and malaria.
Various activities like informative talks using charts and role-play were organized to create awareness on health related matters among children. The students emphasized on various hygienic practices and also highlighted on causes, clinical manifestations and preventive measures of malaria. All the sessions were informative and interactive.
Around 35 students of classes 4th and 5th along with their teachers participated in the awareness program at Academy school, Manipal and there were 25 preschool children at Day Care, Manipal. Thirty two III year BSc Nursing students in three different batches actively participated and imparted the health awareness program. Mrs. Sheela Shetty, Assistant Professor, MCON, Manipal coordinated the program. The Head Mistress of the school and the incharge of Day Care were very supportive throughout the programme and appreciated the activities.
