Sarabjeet Kaur Chawla

Assistant Professor

Ms. Sarabjeet Kaur Chawla is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Department of Liberal Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, MAHE, Bengaluru. Her academic journey includes completing her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Psychology from the University of Allahabad, where she achieved second rank. She was awarded the prestigious Dr. R.N. Bhatia Gold Medal and Prof. S.G. Dunn Gold Medal for academic excellence during her undergraduate studies. During her Ph.D. program, Ms. Chawla has also received NCERT Doctoral Fellowship. Her research interests include cyberpsychology with a specific focus on cybervictimization, perpetration, cyber-bystander behaviour in the context of cyberbullying. She has publications in reputed journals by Springer Nature and Sage. She has also presented her research at international conferences held in Serbia and Czech Republic. Notably, she received Best Paper Award at 57th National and 26th International Conference of Indian Academy of Applied Psychology (IAAP). Additionally, she has collaborated on cross-cultural research on cyberbullying led by University of Novi Sad, Serbia, encompassing 22 countries. Before joining DLHS, MAHE-BLR she worked as a Teaching Assistant during her Ph.D., NCERT Doctoral Fellow Internee at Regional Institute of Education, Ajmer (constituent unit of NCERT). Additionally, she has gained practical experience as a therapist intern while working at ACDC, Prayagraj. She has also served as an Editorial Assistant for the journal Psychology and Developing Societies published by Sage. Beyond academia, she has also been a Content Writer and Anchor at Foreign Cell of Uttar Pradesh Police during Kumbh 2019.
