The Manipal Institute of Liberal Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (MILHS) at Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Bengaluru off campus is one of the most active and thriving institutes on campus. The emphasis is on equipping students with conceptual knowledge, analytical and life skills, as well as communicative proficiencies through a transdisciplinary approach. The objective is to facilitate students in developing their overall personalities and enable them to confront real-world difficulties with the appropriate attitude and ability.

The Institute offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes. Single Major Graduate Degree with Honours Programme in Journalism and Mass Communication, Psychology and English and Double Major Graduate Degree with Honours Programme in History/ Political Science/ Economics/ Sociology are offered. Postgraduate Degrees are offered in Multimedia and Communication, English Language and Literature, and Applied Psychology. All the programmes are designed to integrate several practical skill-oriented components into the curriculum with the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and Continuous Assessment and Grading Pattern (CAGP) of education at its core. The curriculum framework of all the courses is meticulously designed to meet the industry standards and, is in congruence with the National Education Policy (NEP) – 2020.
