An oasis of green and flora, where you can stop to breath clean air and is an escape from the city. One might mistake this as a piece on a new nature spot, however this is an area which celebrates the very essence of nature, the ‘city of Gardens’ houses the first of its kind, an airport terminal dubbed the Terminal in a Biodiversity, a unique and mind-boggling experience in Namma Bengaluru. Which has been showcased in all its mesmerizing beauty and with immense detail is MINDIA’s latest film “Airport Terminal in a Garden- Bengaluru Airport”. Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Bengaluru hosted it’s first ever premier on the Twentieth of February 2023.

The event was hosted by our very own Department of Liberal Arts, Humanities and Social sciences and featured, Ganesh Shankar Raj, Founder, and Filmmaker – MINDIA Media Pvt. Ltd. Prasanna Murthy, Vice President, Head Landscape, Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL),  Vinod Jacob, General Manager, Namma Bengaluru Foundation and Nagesh Sidhanti, Urban Environment Volunteer, Partner – The Landscape Collective, and Founder Secretary – Greater Bengaluru Parisara Foundation.

The premiere of the film was followed by a panel discussion and keynotes by the guests on their involvement with the project and their various expertise in the varying fields they hail from such as Mr. Ganesh Shankar’s filming processes and his technical know-how. Along with Mr. Vinod Jacob and Mr. Nagesh Sidhanti’s expertise in the environmental sector and the relationship the people of Bangalore have with our rejuvenating flora and fauna.

A key aspect of the film was to showcase the work that has been carried out not just to beautify or make the airport terminal one of a kind, the main goal was to provide a refuge for plants from all over the world and to give them a new lease of life - said Prasanna Murthy, while asked how the concept for the terminal emerged. Along with making the terminal fully self-efficient with solar panels powering the entire terminus and the facility being entirely sustainable with water being filtered and reused.

Such a green- thumb initiative is to be commended and made aware off as it is a step in the right direction towards a greener Bengaluru and a safer and more sustainable future for India. It is very well honored by the efforts of MINDIA Media Pvt. Ltd and their enthusiastic associates. The film captures the essence of the terminal and the green initiative it is trying to incorporate within the heavy carbon emitting environment it is surrounded in.
