Overview

Bachelor of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology (BASLP) was launched in the year 2005. Since the time of its inception, there has been a progressive growth in terms of the number of students opting for BASLP program.

 

Program Highlights

  • Students are motivated and trained to improvise their theoretical knowledge and integrate knowledge into their clinical skills.
  • Students are encouraged to involve in various research activities.
  • Motivated to participate and present scientific research papers in national and international conferences.
 
Teaching Methodology
  • Audio-visual method supplemented with PPT, videos, etc.
  • Clinical demonstration, Case-based learning, expert interactions.
  • Peer-assisted teaching, role play, seminars, small group discussions, and teaching.

 

Assessment

  • Semester based scheme- Two sessional exams.
  • Clinical conference presentations and evaluation.
  • Students are evaluated for their clinical practicum and clinical performance.

 

Career Opportunities

  • Students can work as Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists in various hospital set ups, super specialty clinics such as Neurology/ ENT/ Paediatric/Oncology clinics and Rehabilitation centers.
  • Students also have opportunities to work as industrial audiologist, audiologist in hearing aid and cochlear implant industries, and also opt for serving in private clinics. Few opportunities are also given in the Defence Systems as an Audiologist.
  • Students may also work at the level of faculty positions and research scholars in various institutions/universities.
  • Students have good opportunities to pursue their higher education in international Universities. Majority of them are under Scholarship Schemes.
  • Most of the students from India are given placements as Swallowing Therapists in Dysphagia rehabilitation centers, Speech Language Pathologists in normal and special schools, Stroke and Dementia rehabilitation clinics, and Clinical Audiologists in various countries worldwide.
  • Students also can pursue their higher education in other reputed universities in India or abroad.

 

Course Duration: Three years of academic program plus 10 months Internship.
