FOA in the Inter-Cultural International Design Studio (iDiDe) at Srilanka

12 students from VI Semester B.Arch. represented Faculty Of Architecture, Manipal Academy of Higher Education at the iDiDe studio in collaboration with Deakin University, Australia and Moratuwa University, Colombo, from 10th January to 30th January 2016, at Ampara, Sri Lanka.
The outcomes of "Building Ampara" studio included the successful adoption of a design proposal made by the students of Manipal Academy of Higher Education under the Community leadership group, with supporting site survey, context analysis, and a material study.
The students developed a recommendation for sustainable innovated applications of local material palette along with environmentally appropriate construction techniques. The partnering Universities highly appreciated the MU student's skills in cross-cultural communication, personal goal setting, self-management and organizational skills, reflection, analysis and design, and timely development and implementation of the studio project.
