Smart Cities and Academia towards Action and Research (SAAR) initiative

Manipal School of Architecture and Planning (MSAP) is proud to announce being selected as one of the 15 premier institutions across India under the Smart Cities and Academia towards Action and Research (SAAR) initiative of the National Institute of Urban Affairs and Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (NIUA-MoHUA). As part of the project, the students of Master of Architecture (M.Arch) Urban Design and Development (UDD) along with faculties are reviewing select Smart City projects in Tumkuru, Shivamogga, Mangaluru and Hubli in the state of Karnataka. The hands-on exposure with live projects is making students aware of urbanization challenges in cities and how they are overcome. The initiative involves interaction with citizens, project beneficiaries, city officials, and political representatives.
The faculty team is led by Prof. B Venkata Ramana, Prof. Purushottam Kesar, Prof. Yogendra Yadav and supported under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Nandineni Rama Devi, Director (MSAP)
