CURRENT ACADEMIC ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Dr. Usha Rani is an Associate Professor in Dept of Social & Health Innovation, PSPH, MAHE, Manipal. She is a Respiratory Therapist with post-graduation in Hospital Administration and a Ph.D. in the area of 'Infection control and prevention through system process mapping and re-engineering the process'. She has worked on Infection prevention and control among neonates and developed antimicrobial policies. She has published more than 20 scholarly publications indexed in Scopus & Web of Sciences and has obtained 2 international grants, and also holds an IPR.

    She has completed 40+ projects and organized 20+ National and International conferences and workshops in healthcare. She is a member of the board of study (BoS) for the MHA programme. She holds certificates on Lean six sigma (Green and Black Belt) from IASSC accredited Anexas Europe, NABH-POI from Quality Council of India, QMS (ISO 9001: 2015), and EMS (ISO 14001:2015) from Suprabha Quality Solutions, Biostatistics, Epidemiology & Research Methodology, systematic analysis, and meta-analysis from MAHE. She is also the awardee of the Individual Research grant by the International Society for Infectious Diseases and is the recipient of the Young International Health Literacy Award 2018 by the Asian Health Literacy Association, Taiwan.

     She is the Coordiantor - Manipal Health Literacy Unit and cultural coordinator for PSPH and also a Ph.D. supervisor.
