Dr Kumar Sumit

CURRENT ACADEMIC ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Dr Kumar Sumit is an Associate Professor in the Department of Global Public Health Policy and Governance, Prasanna School of Public Health. His prior experience includes lecturer at J.N. Medical College, Belgaum. His research interests are focused on road traffic psychology, migration and tribal health and has more than  40 Publications and is currently pursuing Coordinator for placements and corporate relations, PSPH.

Dr Sumit has handled various administrative roles and has also been collaborating with an international university with regard to conferences and summer classes. He has been the recipient of the Erasmus ICM grant and has experience in teaching global health students at Tampere University, Finland.  He is a recipient of the Team Finland knowledge grant by Finnish National Agency for Education with Tampere University, Finland (2023) and Honorary Lecturer, School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition, University of Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom. He has been coordinating the foundation courses 1 and 2 in collaboration with Maastricht University since 2016. He has been appointed as a Honorary Associate Professor in the School of Health and Social Development, Faculty of Health, Deakin University, Australia. He is recognised as a doctoral guide and serves on the doctoral advisory committee within MAHE.
